Why Should The Kids Have All The Fun?

Everybody knows about our Summer Reading Club for kids, right? Every year we ask the kids to join the club, read some books, and join in our special SRC related activities. It’s a great program, and it’s lots of fun, but . . . .

Why should the kids have all the fun? That’s what we asked ourselves recently, and the answer we came up with is that we adults should be able to have some fun, too. So we decided to start a reading club just for grownups. We’re calling it our Winter Adult Reading Program: WARP. We’re kicking off our first season with a focus on the mystery genre; this year’s theme is It’s A Mystery @ The Library.

The program begins Saturday, December 1st, 2007 and last until February 29, 2008. You can sign up at any of libraries or on our website at pascolibraries.org

You can enjoy reading or listening to any five books or audiobooks and then log your entries into our WARP website. Everyone that enters will receive a prize! Everyone who reads five books will be entered in our grand prize drawing. For each additional group of five books you read and log you’ll get another chance to enter the grand prize drawing, so the more you read the better your chances are. The grand prize drawing will take place on March 1st, 2008. Winners will be notified shortly thereafter.

We’ll also be hosting a Winter Mystery Film Discussion to go along with the WARP. On December 13th come see Alfred Hitchcock’s Notorious. On January 10th come see Agatha Christie’s Murder on the Orient Express. And on February 21st join us for M. Night Shyamalan’s Sixth Sense. All films will start at 6 PM followed by a lively discussion. Please sign up at the Hudson Library (seating will be limited).
